John Bauer (1882-1918) was one of the most appreciated Swedish artists and illustrators of the early 20th century. His artworks, contemporary to those of Pamela “Pixie” Smith, brought to life a world of sweet and dark myth and folklore, where fairytales blends with prerafaelite suggestions.
